The Dutch National Ballet Academy (NBA) is the premier classical ballet school in the Netherlands and is part of the Academy of Theatre and Dance (AHK). It is the only ballet academy in the country directly affiliated with the Dutch National Ballet and its Junior Company, providing students with professional-level training and performance opportunities.

History
Founded in 1968 by renowned ballet teacher Nel Roos. Officially became the National Ballet Academy in 1988. Has maintained a close partnership with the Dutch National Ballet, strengthened over the decades. In 2013, the Dutch National Ballet Junior Company was created to bridge the gap between the academy and the professional company. In 2023, the academy moved into a new purpose-built campus in Amsterdam.

Requirements
Applicants must: Pass an audition. Demonstrate strong classical ballet technique, musicality, flexibility, and artistic potential. Younger students (ages 10+) enter the Preliminary Course. Older students with previous professional ballet training may audition directly for the Associate Degree programme. International applicants may complete the first audition round online.
