Finding Events

The Events section is where you discover performance opportunities. Browse available shows, view details, and express your interest in participating.

Accessing Events

Navigate to Events in the main navigation menu, or click the "Browse Events" button on your home dashboard.

Browsing Events

Event List View

The events page shows all available performances that are currently accepting participants. Each event card displays:

  • Event Title - Name of the performance
  • Production - The show or ballet name
  • Date & Time - When the performance takes place
  • Venue - Location of the performance
  • Status - Whether the event is open for participation

Filtering Events

You can filter events by:

  • Date range - See events in a specific time period
  • Event type - Filter by show, rehearsal, etc.
  • Production - Find events for specific productions

Event Details

Click on any event to see full details:

  • Complete event information - Date, time, venue address
  • Call time - When you need to arrive
  • Production details - Information about the show
  • Venue information - Full address and location details
  • Notes - Any special instructions or requirements

Expressing Interest

When you find an event you'd like to participate in:

  1. Click on the event to view details
  2. Click "Express Interest" or select your interest level:
    • Interested - You're available and want to participate
    • Maybe Interested - You're considering it
    • Not Interested - You're not available

Interest Levels

  • Interested: You're definitely available and want to be considered
  • Maybe Interested: You're considering it but not sure yet
  • Not Interested: You're not available for this event

Note: You can change your interest level at any time before the event closes.

Profile Requirements

To browse and express interest in events, you need:

  • At least 50% profile completion
  • Basic personal information (name, contact details)

If your profile isn't complete enough, you'll see a message guiding you to complete it.

Event Statuses

Events can have different statuses:

  • Open - Currently accepting participants (you can express interest)
  • Closed - No longer accepting new participants
  • Cancelled - Event has been cancelled

Only events with "Open" status are visible in the events list.

What Happens After Expressing Interest?

  1. Production coordinators see your interest when casting
  2. You may receive an assignment if you're selected for a role
  3. You'll be notified if you're offered a role (check your Assignments page)

Tips for Finding Events

  1. Check regularly - New events are added frequently
  2. Express interest early - Coordinators often cast on a first-come basis
  3. Keep your profile updated - A complete profile increases your chances
  4. Be specific about interest - Use "Interested" for events you really want
